Sooo, back in December I decided to begin the process of starting my new blog. I didn’t want just any blog, I wanted a proper blog, or so I called it. I’d had a WordPress.com account before and actually loved writing my little thought pieces whenever a thought danced into my mind. Anyway, so I ditched that one and began the preparations for: www.neomifearon.com.
Do you know how long it took me to actually decide on a name!
I have to say the first month has been a rollercoaster. While I had the most fun setting things up and picking colour schemes, it was the most frustrating thing ever! I had done my research and discovered that Blogger and WordPress.org were the two biggest blogging platforms, but what I didn’t research was which one was the easiest to work with… so after choosing WordPress.org, that’s when I discovered by reading other bloggers posts that Blogger seemed to come out on top for ease of use. But WordPress.org came out as overall a better platform if you know what you’re doing, which I didn’t and still don’t lol.
So after all the frustration of trying to set things up, I managed to move through all the customisation tools to get things just the way I wanted *smiley face*. I sat back looked at my Samsung TabS Pro and smiled, not only was I in love with my new Samsung tablet/PC, I was also in love with my new blog layout, and I could not wait to begin putting content in it.
1st March 2017, that was the day I launched my blog site. I spent hours on my first post to ensure it was awesome and guess what, no reads! Not one read. To say my heart sank would be an understatement. And to be honest a month on and still I get minimal reads; it’s slightly frustrating. I know it’s only been a month and I’ve read other bloggers who say it takes time, but it still doesn’t make it feel any better. Knowing you’ve gone and created this wonderful content and then there’s no one to read it.
My new Instagram loses followers just as quickly as they come. This whole follow and unfollow thing is annoying. One minute I get like 5 people following me after putting up a post then a few days later those same 5 disappear one by one *rolls eyes*. When I follow brands and people it’s because I actually like what they are doing, not because I want a follow back only to disappear a few days later.
Anyway, I have never taken so many pictures in my life! Just trying to get that shot. Please do not believe the lies of these beautiful images you see online; someone has spent the better part of a day trying to get that image perfect lol. I have tried numerous photo editing software on my phone to perfect my phone images. I still haven’t gotten used to the whole take a picture everywhere I go and document it. My partner still looks at me like I’m weird, as he stares from me to my phone and then back again. Is this something I’ll ever get used to, who knows?
There is still a lot I don’t know, but I’ll write another update next month to let you all know how I’m getting on!
But in saying all of the above, I enjoy writing and I love my new blog!
